I got a cut this past weekend by Jonathan T. I have an event in two weeks and Jonathan got me in on short notice. Why would I get a cut 2 weeks out in...stead of right before? Well, usually my hair sucks after I get a haircut and doesn't start to look right until about two weeks after I get it cut. This was NOT the case when Jonathan cut my hair. I left Grey Matter feeling freaking awesome and loving my cut. I have really confusing, unmanageable, and weird curly hair. Jonathan gave me the best taper I've ever had and spent as much time as he needed to make it perfect (blending it splendidly with my beard. I wish I got cut right before my event because that man got me right for sure. I'm never going to another barber again. Overall sick dude too, I've never had that much fun getting my hair cut. 11/10 experience I'm coming back for sure for sure for sure. Show more

Shout out to Jonathan Tapan here at Grey Matter for keeping me fresh every cut and taking care of my hair goals. I don't trust many barbers with cutti...ng my hair (due to the bad experiences and lack of understanding my hair goals). Jonathan is the only one to have earned my loyalty, and most importantly, trust. He really took the time to talk me through how he would be cutting my hair and why he's doing it that way so I understood how it would help me achieve the style I wanted with my hair. He's very skillful at what he does and was able to understand my head shape and the best way to cut it (when most barbers don't). I went to this place during COVID-19 and felt little to no fear about it while I was there. The precautions they have in place made me feel more than ...safe. As for my barber Jonathan, I have never had a more pleasant conversation or experience while getting my hair cut. He went over the cut I asked for, how I style my hair, and how my hair pattern would work given the prior two points. He also continuously checked in as we chatted during the haircut to make sure the length and blending were to my personal taste. All of this already made me beyond happy about money spent. However, even furthering the point Jonathan texted me afterwards offering to adjust anything I later noticed was not to my liking. He went above my already high expectations and I definitely will be returning. Show more
