the first time i came here, veronica's granddaughter did my hair and i had zero complaints. i loved my hair and was very happy with the service. which... is why i decided to return and that's where i made my mistake. i was a little hesitant to write this review because on her google reviews she blatantly attacks every person with a negative review and dodges accountability. the first red flag from this appointment was her lack of preparation. she didn't have the hair i wanted and had to go run to the store and get it. my appointment was at 10 and we didn't start til 10:30. the second red flag was the fact she uncharged me 40$. the first time i came here i asked for the exact same length and paid around 160$ but this time she said 200$. she began doing knotless but i didn't like the way it looked (it was about half an inch of my natural hair and then the braiding hair. very loose and felt like it was going to slip out if i pulled on it.) when i asked her to redo it she then became a little argumentative about it. her parting my hair over and over was super painful and her latching the hair was also painful and she then tried to say that when i was there last time i said i had a tender scalp. not only did i never say that but i have never had a tender scalp a day in my life. my scalp wasn't hurting when her granddaughter did my hair nor has it hurt when i've gotten my hair braided before. she stated that all her clients always say the crown of their heads hurt when she braids that part. if that doesn't prove it's a skill issue then im not sure what does. the third red flag was the amount of product she used in my hair. she kept putting globs of gel on my scalp for the parting. now i understand the gel is crucial to the braiding process but the amount of gel she used each time was insane. i asked her to use less gel because of the possibility of product build up and my hair was super sticky/greasy the last time they used that amount of gel. she again became argumentative with me saying not to worry and that this gel doesn't flake or turn white or cause build up. once again she was trying to tell me what i know and don't know about MY hair. now that it's a day later, there is indeed buildup from the gel and it indeed turned white like i knew it would. she also used PETROLEUM JELLY on my scalp. she said it was because i have a dry scalp. for those who don't know petroleum jelly clogs pores and the follicle of the hair. a simple google search will show you that petroleum jelly is not to be used on the scalp. it's okay to use to smooth the hair shaft or smooth split ends but never is it to touch the scalp. it was getting quite close to the closing of the store and we weren't even on the closing of my hair. she claimed it was because we weren't doing knotless and how knotless takes less time. again a simple google search would prove this wrong. not only is knotless more damaging to the hair but it does indeed take longer than box braids. she then blamed it on how thick my hair is. also incorrect. i've had services done in half the time it took for her to do my hair. at every turn she dodged accountability and never apologised for a single thing that went wrong. she also kept walking away from doing my hair to do whatever she was doing in the shop. she walked away about 10 times throughout doing my hair. she would apologize and then walk away again. she then called me and threaten me about my review as well as being verbally abusive in response to my review Show more

Oh wow you are a terrible person and a dangerous liar . How will I be prepared when you never told me the hair color you wanted. You said you wanted box braid maid back with cure at the end and I reminded you that the last time was knottele we did . And hey you have lots hair and you wanted small box braids I was yo charge you $240 and that is what you paid the other day $160 is not for waist length so you lied right theret why are you lying on me my granddaughter and I did your hair if you felt uncomfortable you should had left but saying all of these because I charged you $ 200 dollars just so yout know that this is not a good will store with discount sales I see why my granddaughter complained about you the last time you were here crying under the comb and your nasty attitude towards her you need to be careful how you treats others and what you say about others you have lots of hair and you wanted small box braids you then expect me to do your hair in four hours? Are you for real ? You did that to my granddaughter and you had her crying you are very terrible

Love my hair...Veronica did a phenomenal job. I'm definitely going here again to get my hair braided. I felt bad asking for 30in box braids but she ha...d no problem doing it for me. She's extremely sweet and really cares about her customers. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I definitely would. I never met someone who was passionate about braiding hair. Show more
