Box Braids

The person who said they were going to do my hair said they were running behind and said someone was going to help start so I wouldn’t wait too long. ...I asked for box braids at a certain length which I was quoted for and they told me to purchase the hair, which I did. I purchased the hair in the length that I wanted so it would be easier to complete. As soon as the person who was helping started I found out that they didn’t speak English, which i don’t fault them for. So we called the original person who was supposed to do my hair, so she could translate. At the end of the call, it seemed like the person who was helping understood what I wanted so we continued. Hours go by and the person who was helping was practically on the 4 row of my head. Then the original person walks in and says they doubled the hair in length and said that it would be an additional $25. I agreed to pay the extra price because I didn’t want them to start over and I didn’t want them to cut it so I just agreed to pay it. The person who started had someone else to help do it, and the original person never even did my hair at all. Before the original person leaves, she makes sure to let me know to Zelle her at the end. I was thinking shouldn’t I just give them the money instead🤷🏾‍♀️. As the were just finishing up I saw they were starting cutting wispy hairs from the braids for a while, I should’ve stopped them but I didn’t. I sent the original person the money with the $25 extra as they were finishing up just to get it over with. Then instead of dipping my hair they sat me in the shampoo bowl and ran hot water on the hair. After that they sat me back down in the chair and then they started putting muse on the braids but it wasn’t a lot. As soon as they were done, they were trying to leave asap which I understand we were there from 9am-7pm. When I got to my car I realized that they cut the ends of the braids and left them without an attempt to try and fix it by closing them by burning the ends. They just left it loose and of course they were starting to unravel like the one in the photo. By them cutting it, the braids are shorter now than I wanted them to be and they’re uneven. Which out of everything that happened I was very upset about them doing, like why would you cut the ends without closing it. The 2 people who were trying to help, didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing half of the time, from yakking my hair multiple times and stabbing me in the eye with a rat tail comb & letting it slap me in the face multiple times. Me personally I didn’t have a great experience, but doesn’t mean everyone else will have that same experience. Show more
