This was my first time using Booksy and I was skeptical at first due to having a bad experience on Style Seat and let me just tell you, if you are loo...king to take a chance with this braider, Sarah. I highly recommend doing so. I usually take my children to African braiders and I wasn’t so sure about taking my children to a new braider, but she really surprised me with how gentle she was with my children’s hair (my daughter is a crier so I was expecting her to fight but she didn’t flinch not one bit) and my son was so impressed he has never gotten braids before and after seeing his sister’s hair he was encouraged to get his hair done as well and came ip with a unique style, in which Sarah really brought the look to life. She really did an astonishing job! She knows how to handle kids with proper care and really knows how to keep a conversation going. Next time it will surely be me getting pampered with my hair done next. She truly was amazing. 10/10 experience Show more

I have a lot of thoughts. The first thing I will lead with is I do not think she is a professional braider, but more of an amateur and the level of se...rvice, and what what's the result of my hair was a reflection of that. I guess I should have considered it a sign. When there was an extremely high cancellation fee, because average professionals have a 20 to maybe 30 dollar cancellation fee. But hers was over $100. And I would not have sat through the appointment if the cancellation fee was so expensive because when I got there, she said, "This is all the hair that I have. I pulled out two packs of hair with four bundles in each one, and one pack was dark brown, and the other pack was the color that I would normally get for my hair. That one pack a 4 bundles is not enough to do knotless Boho fellani braids. Then she pulled out this.Sorry, looking bundle of curly hair that was so short.I'm like, who has ever gotten boho.Braids with short, curly hair that defeats the purpose of bo And now that i see it during the day time it's not giving. She said the day prior, she did not have time to go to the hair store. But if I look at your booking site and majority of your services are braided hairstyles, braider does not have hair. All braiders have a stash of hair and varying lengths and colors and even textures because people want something different. And then she said, "Well, we can blend it." Did i want blended hair ? But my appointment starts at 8 in the morning and I have a dog to take care of and if we wait to the hair store to open, we're never gonna get out of that studio because I was already there for almost 13 Hours. I was there for 12 hours and 47 minutes. And the hair store opened at 10pm. She didn't even part my hair in the correct pattern that I wanted she was braiding too slow. And she said, well, I normally only braid clients' hair to their butt. Why would I want you to fix a mistake or just get longer hair than I normally get when I know you're braiding too slow?when I got home and looked at the front of my hair, it is so uneven. I should have known the ends were going to come out chunky and jagged it when she pulled out the eyebrow razor to cut the hair shorter. Because she didn't know that that when you our braiding. Braids, you are supposed to feed the hair. A specific amount of hair throughout the braiding shaft to keep it the same thickness and increase the length, and when you find the correct length. You stop adding hair. She really did use an eyebrow razor to cut it off.And now my ends are giving a paintbrush.It's giving scarecrow vibes. It's giving the doll from rugrats. The braids look. Okay, when you don't look at it too close, you can tell that the braids. He does is amateur. It's not even the same size. There's there's bulging in the braids because she added too much hair at one point or two little hair to make it skinny and thick at certain parts. I know I should not have paid, but I still wanted to get my hair done. And I couldn't just leave because of the cancelation fee. Even though due to the lack of materials, I could have canceled and ask to not have her charge my card.But one thing.I've learned that people will charge it anyway. I wish her the best of luck. But I will not be coming back for the future just because I don't want to be one of the heads you experiment to get better on because I don't want to walk around these streets looking crazy like i already am. I did not book my appointment at the last minute. The day before, because I booked it on tuesday and our appointment was on sunday. And you're telling me you didn't have a few minutes to go down the road to get hair?? Her moving to San Antonio and working in dallas has nothing to do with her neglect to keep an eye on her hair inventory to purchase or bring more hair. Professional my foot. Black hairstylist her age, and younger, does better. It appears the partial refund is conditional on me removing my review ? Show more

Hey Kendalyn! I am so sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t great! We pride ourselves with giving the best experience to our clients. Sarah is an exceptional professional braider and has to travel back and forth weekly for dental school 4 hours each week. So I apologize that she didn’t have time to get the hair you were expecting. You are the first this has happened to and it will definitely not be happening again. She mentioned she did ask you multiple times if you were okay with the style and you mentioned you didn’t have your glasses so you couldn’t really see and she offered to grab them for you as well. And we would have cancelled without you paying if you would have asked dear. Instead, we are here behind a screen going back and forth because you didn' want to communicate privately. She was trying to be professional and asked if you wanted a refund because you were not satisfied with your hair. It had nothing to do with paying you to remove your review. I'm sorry if it may have came off like that, but those were not her intentions. Maybe next time for future braiders you do use, bring extra curly hair for them to use in case it is not to your satisfaction. Always be prepared.
