What can I say that I didn't already say in prior reviews? Shy is not only an extremely talented barber, but never fails to make each visit a pleasant... social experience. It would be hard to overstate what a chill place Hansol is, especially if you come by when the street isn't busy, and you can take a second to enjoy the plants and have a peaceful little sit before getting your hair cut. Likewise, Shy is always improving things. From when I started getting my hair cut till now, there's been entertainment and comfort improvements, more equipment for different hair and shaving services, etc. I don't even need these things because I get the simplest of the simple haircuts, and I'd still take advantage if I could because it's just so nice. If you like having a spa day, you'll enjoy a visit, so drop by next time you need a haircut or shave. Seriously. Show more

I was a former client of the previous owner of the shop that Hansol now occupies. The previous owner became increasingly difficult to book an appointm...ent and would never call back and the shop always looked closed. Ever since Shy has taken over the location I’m glad I stuck around. The shop has done a complete 180! instead of feeling cluttered or like I was in a thrasher magazine it’s a much cleaner and more relaxing environment! Owner Shy, there’s not much more I can say except she’s excellent! I have never once left dissatisfied with a cut, she gets it right every single time! She’s great at what she does and I even trust her cutting my 6yo son’s hair who is very picky! Not only have I found my permanent barber but also someone I consider to be a friend! If you’re in the San Mateo/belmont/San Carlos area looking for a barber this is is where you need to go! Show more
