I’ve been going to Leonard for nearly 20 years. Today, he completely ruined that trust. I asked him to line up my goatee and soul patch — something we...'ve done many times — but he cut my soul patch off without asking. When I told him I was upset, he got angry, dismissed me, and refused to make it right. When I suggested to not pay the $15 for the facial hair he didn't do properly, and made a mistake on, he snapped. He shoved me into vending machines, threw me onto the couch, and physically threw me out of the building. My phone was broken in the process when I tried to record what happened. After two decades of loyalty, this is how he treated me. No apology — just, “It’ll grow back", and is now trynna get me for theft of service. Disrespectful, violent, and completely uncalled for. After months of debating, I finally decided to try Leonard’s Barbershop based on a colleague’s recommendation. I had my cut done by Leonard himself, a...nd overall, it was a good cut and a solid experience. Quality of the Cut (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) The cut was very good—not perfect, but definitely one of the better ones I’ve had in years. My edge-up is the most important thing, and even though my lining is a little wonky, Leonard made it all come together well. Customer Service (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Leonard was friendly, and attentive, and listened to my preferences while offering his own input. He took his time to make sure the cut was right, which I appreciated. Cleanliness & Atmosphere (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) The shop was fairly clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere was decent, and I enjoyed the Michael Jackson playlist in the background. Efficiency & Time (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) My burst fade and beard trim took around 40-45 minutes, which is standard. He didn’t rush, but he also didn’t take forever—just a good balance. Pricing & Value (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) This is where things get tricky. I"'m not sure whether to give it 3 stars or 4 in this section. I feel like 3 stars may be too harsh and it may seem like I'm hating on the price rather than just critiquing it so I'll round up to 4 stars. The $50 price (+$10 tip) is higher than what I usually pay, but it’s reasonable given today’s market. My regular barber charges $25 for the same service, and while he’s not as precise as Leonard, he offers more flexibility (open Sundays & late nights). With the cost of maintaining my dreads every 4-6 weeks, frequent $50+ cuts add up quickly. Final Verdict I recommend Leonard for his attention to detail and skill. However, due to his high demand, limited availability, flexibility, and pricing, I probably won’t be able to visit as often as I’d like (every 3 weeks), but I’ll likely see him once a quarter. If you're looking for a precise, quality cut and don’t mind the price, Leonard is worth checking out! Show more
