Got two strand twists again by a new hair stylist. The twists came out skinnier than my past appointments which were a bit thicker. It took a day or t...wo for the look to grow on me. However, I am really satisfied with the result. The quality is immaculate and is clearly done meticulously and with care. Despite the discomfort of detangling my 4C hair, it was all worth it in the end. Unfortunately, although the hair stylist was very kind, I didn’t have a positive experience at this salon. Too much product was put into my hair to ...the point I had a white cast even after having been under the dryer for over an hour. I had to go home and try to fix it with some water/additional dryer time. My hair, even after 24 hours when I had to remove my twists at home, was still sticky with product but did not even last an evening. I woke up the following morning with frizzy hair. Just very dissaponting to pay over $300 for a twist out and not have it last a day. Also the space had a lot of flies and did not feel clean. Again, leaving 3 stars as the hair stylist was very friendly and tried to be accommodating throughout the experience. Show more

Best natural hair salon in the Boston-Area! I’ve tried several popular “natural” hair salons that made you come washed & styled/washed & blow dried; w...ere expensive; and damaged my hair. When I came to JJ’s they gave me a consultation and came up with a plan to correct damage and achieve healthy hair. They are timely, very friendly, and they actually know how to do tons of natural hair styles on all hair types. Bryanna was the one who styled my hair and I was so happy with the results. :) She was really patient and mad...e sure everything was just right which I really appreciated. 4 stars because the prices do go up a lot compared to what it says on the booking site, I paid about $100 more than I expected to when I arrived, I loved the style and the experience as a whole, but the price was a bit too much compared to what other stylists offer.
