I had not been to a barbershop since getting out of the military in 1989. I have grown my hair down to the small of my back to donate my hair to make... wigs for Children with cancer 5 times since then. But I would keep mid length hair to get a jump start on my next donation. This time I decided to get a real haircut but did not have a barber. I somehow ran into Eye Kandy Barbershop on Facebook and booked an appointment. I was nervous as to how my hair and I would look after having long hair for most of my life. I showed Kandy some photos of what I would like my haircut to look like and she was like “yeah! I can do that” And sure enough! I could not be any happier with the work she did on me. Love Kandys Barbershop, been going for years. As you can see she left me looking handsome. Something she has a gift for. I show up looking crazy but a...lways leave with a smile with how fast and precise her work is. Kandy is the first barber in chico that has uped my hair game, while providing a comfortable and safe environment. Being part of the LGBTQ its hard finding that perfect barber/ barbershop that feels accepting and the first time I walked in thats exactly what I felt.
