I just moved 2 weeks ago from Maui. Finding a great barber is hard to come by. Luckily my friend Davin recommended Jay. Jay understands and gets to kn...ow what haircut/style you want. Dont get me wrong. The cut wasn't terrible, but the overall experience was less than favorable. I found Jay on insta and wanted to go to him because ...he was a part of the lgbt community and i felt i would feel more comfortable around him as opposed to other barbers. I was wrong. Jay already seemed like he didnt want to be there cutting my hair. When i tried explaining what i wanted, he was a bit condescending. I explained i knew nothing when it came to cutting hair so i figured he would understand my point of view and help me. Instead he commented things like "ok youre telling me short, but you havent told me if you want a 0, 1, 2". Everytime i mentioned something like "not too short" or "not too thin" hed ask "ok what do you mean". Im not a picky customer. I wasnt nitpicking and only answered when he asked me questions so it just felt like he was upset that he had to cut my hair. He made unnecessary comments about my appearance/job which i wont mention here as well. All in all, if you fit his demographic and look like one of the models he wants to photograph, you might have a better experience with him. But if youre looking for a friendly, welcoming barber, you probably wont find it here. Maybe the other barbers in the shop are friendlier, but i cannot recommend someone who made me feel insecure and just made me feel like leaving the place altogether. Show more

Feedback is always welcome and greatly appreciated. My deep sincere apologies as it is never my intention to make anyone feel as such nor has this matter ever happened with anyone else during my 3 years of cutting hair. To begin service I always start with a small consultation asking questions for guidance- you referred to your previous first time appointment (4 months ago) in which I do not remember completely and spoke of your previous barber instead. I asked for guidance to ensure a quality hairstyle to your liking but was giving contradictory responses and no reference photos, I talked you through the differences. I have always kept an open chair and welcomed anyone (I post to show a variety of styles not based on looks). Along with my services I also bring my humor and sarcasm, I apologize if it came off as offensive and misunderstanding the energy I was receiving. Feel free to reach out for a reimbursement for the service or schedule your next appointment on the house to make your experience better. Thank you!
