Been going to LaLa for about 9 months now. By far the best braider I've had. All my broad jobs (usually cornrows and box braids) have looked Great! Cl...eanly parted and neatly braided. But never too tight. My scalp has done alot better ever since going to LaLa. Definitely worth the drive. Highly recommend. (PS The photos are from a week and and half after the job...just to show how long her work lasts). Show more

A lot of this review is about the environment and not just the stylist: My son’s usual loctician was booked and I needed to get his hair done ASAP for... an event. She provided a shampoo in addition to the retwist, which was one of my main motivating factors, as I do not know how to wash locs properly. We walked into a shop that left a lot to be desired. Strong smell of marijuana, slightly grimy and of course, someone was already in the chair. I don’t know if this is a Booksy thing or what, but very common when I use this app. Lala was very friendly, explained that the morning had been pretty hectic. She was going to blow dry the person in the chair and then get my son shampooed. It was only about 5-10 min before she called him back to get started. I sat in the front on the benches that looked like they had seen better days, and while waiting, proceeded to be attacked by the numerous flies in the shop. It obviously is a known issue, as there were electric fly lights sitting on the table across from the seating area. The atmosphere was quiet with low R&B and rap playing. Parking was ample, and close to the shop. Some of the barbers and clients were smoking weed right outside the front entrance. After shampoo, he sat for awhile as she finished her previous client. By the time he was finished, I swear I had a contact high! Lala did a good, but incomplete job. Once she was finished with the retwist, there were no dryers available, so my son was sent out with wet hair. Not a major issue, but for the price, he should have received all services. Overall we were out after 3hrs and 55 minutes. We did not receive the full “Ooh LaLaa experience”, as she shared no product knowledge or recommendations. If you’re willing to endure this environment for a hairstyle so be it, unfortunately I am not. This is not the environment I want to be in, or my 13 year old. I provided a tip, because the service was provided and I believe in tipping, but we will never return. Show more

My experience was fabulous. Starting with the shampoo which was great and extremely relaxing. The shop is clean and beautiful they are very conscienti...ous about covid protocols so I felt safe. My retwist was fast and my hair looks beautiful. Lala is extremely good at what she does. Show more
