I don’t usually write reviews, but this one’s long overdue. Before I found Ed, getting a haircut felt like gambling. I’d try out different barbers, h...oping maybe this time the fade would actually blend right or my lineup wouldn’t look like it was drawn during an earthquake. Sometimes it was too short, other times they just didn’t listen. I’d walk out the shop already regretting it, throwing on a hat for the rest of the week. I got so tired of it, I almost stopped getting haircuts altogether. Then one day I was scrolling through IG late at night and I came across Ed’s page. Every single cut was clean. The tapers, the fades, the lineups—flawless. On top of that, I saw trophies in the background like it was a whole award ceremony. I thought, yeah… this guy’s legit. I sent the page to my brothers and booked a cut for all of us. When we showed up, we got there early and the vibe in the shop was solid. Chill energy, good music playing, and Ed welcomed us like we were already regulars. No ego, no attitude—just cool and professional. We even played rock-paper-scissors to see who was getting cut first. Once it was my turn, I told him what I wanted and he actually listened. No rushing. No “I got you” and then doing something completely different. He took his time, paid attention to every little detail, and you could tell he cared about getting it right. While I was in the chair, I kept noticing the trophies and awards—turns out, they were all his. Dude’s really built different. When he finished and handed me the mirror, I was blown away. I didn’t even recognize myself for a second. The cut was that clean. It was one of those moments where you just smile at your reflection and think, yeah, I’m really him today. My brothers were hyped about their cuts too. We all walked out feeling like a new version of ourselves. People at the mall were even asking where we got our haircuts. That’s how you know it was fire. But here’s the thing—Ed isn’t just a one-time thing. I’ve been back multiple times now, and he’s never missed. He’s consistent, detail-oriented, and always makes sure you leave feeling better than when you walked in. He takes pride in what he does, and it shows in every cut. I used to get my cut at the mall with my little brothers. Every time we got cut, it was always too short or it just wasn’t to my liking. One day, I as...ked for a design, just a little star on the side. What I ended up getting was the most deformed/atrocious “star” ever. I was so sad. I couldn’t go out with my friends, and wherever I went, I would scare the huzz. I started doing research. I went on my phone and started looking up “barbers”. I was clicking and scrolling for what felt like forever. I was on TikTok, Maps, Snap, and Insta. Finally, a page caught my eye. It was a Mexican dude holding a trophy. I thought to myself, “He must be a decent barber”. I went on his page and started scrolling. I was amazed at all the fades and line-ups. I was impressed. I ended up booking a cut for me and my brothers. The day came, and we got there early. I’d just gotten out of work, and my brothers just finished school. We opened the door and were invited inside by one of the guys. They asked if we had an appointment. I told them we had an appointment with Ed. He pointed me in the direction to where Ed was. My brothers and I played rock-paper-scissors to see who went first. I lost. I dap Ed up and introduced myself and my brothers. He seemed chill and went straight to cutting. As he was turning my chair, I saw a bunch of trophies in the corner. I asked about them, and he told me they were all his. I couldn’t wait to see what he was cooking up when we finished with the cut. He gave me a mirror and spun me around. I was almost speechless. I looked like a model or something, all glaze. My brothers and I left happy. We went out the next day shopping for suits at the mall and some other places. We were getting compliments about how we looked all week, and it was just the best thing ever.
