I was the third generation in my family to wear my wedding dress. It dates back to 1950 with my grandma's original satin dress. My mom added lace, sew...n herself, to the dress for her own wedding. It's an incredibly special heirloom, and I am so glad I trusted Fichu with the alterations. It was a pretty big undertaking that required Mila to add fabric to the bodice while maintaining the original neckline. She showed so much creativity, using some of the original train material to fit the dress more flatteringly, including recreating the sleeves entirely! Mila was so sweet to work with throughout the process. She was really clear about the stages of work on the dress, her next steps, and scheduling for several fittings. I can't imagine working with anyone else on such an important project. Show more

Mila turned me away for business because I had a bridesmaids dress, which she advertises that she alters. She said she can only do wedding dresses bec...ause she is "so busy." Funny - wedding gowns take longer than bridesmaids dresses. Clearly she just wants money. I asked for someone else she recommends for alterations, and she said she "didn't know of anyone." She wasn't helpful one bit. Don't go here. Show more

I made an appointment to get a bridesmaids dress hemmed and when I showed up (early), was told that she couldn't help me because she was too busy. No ...offer to reschedule or an apology was given, she just flat out turned me away. And afterwards, I received a voicemail asking why I didn't show up to my appointment and when I reminded her that she turned me away, she laughed at it. Thankfully, I was able to find another tailor that would help me but I would definitely not recommend this place. Show more
