I went back and forth with the idea of writing this review, and decided to move forward with it because I realized I would not want someone else to ha...ve the experience I did. As a consumer, I value honest feedback and value honest reviews---so If someone had the experience I did, I would want to know about it as a future customer or more importantly as a business owner. As a recent bride, I referred to honest BOLI reviews many times, and hearing about these experiences is what led to me making decisions about salons and other vendors. I had an appointment on 5/28 for hair and makeup for an anniversary photoshoot with my husband on our one year wedding anniversary. I was matched with Tiffany (I believe this was her name), for makeup. I hadn't made any prior requests because I wasn't sure what my options were in terms of makeup artists. The first red flag I noticed was that a lot of her makeup brushes appeared to be a little dirty. I have had my makeup done with other makeup artists in other salons/locations in the past, and I have always valued artists who made it clear that everything was sanitized thoroughly beforehand. When it came to eyeliner and mascara, I noticed she was about to apply liquid liner straight from the tube, not a disposable applicator. After noticing this, I asked her to please avoid using any mascara and eyeliner because I wanted to retain the life of my eyelash extensions (which was also true). She scoffed at me and asked who my lash artist was. I said it was someone I've worked with for many years, and she said "If they had any idea what they were doing they wouldn't have given you this advice, but if you want to listen to them then that's fine." I was very taken aback by her Braisen attitude, especially given the fact that she knows its someone I have known and worked with for many years. The more I thought about it, the more offended I was not only by her attitude but now given the clear lack of cleanliness. There were multiple other moments where I made comments about what I was looking for, and she made scoffing remarks in response, almost in a derogatory manner. Had she even cleaned the mascara wand or eyeliner applique before her last client? She then offered to do my lips, which I agreed. She took the lip gloss want straight of the tube, again no disposable applicator, wiped it quickly on a towel that had been lying on the desk nearby, and applied the product to my lips. I couldn't get over the idea in my head of how there were no disposable applicator used, and how the brushes had a dingy look to them. The whole experience was a turnoff. To end, the makeup artist then left in the middle of the service to get a smoothie next door. She returned with the smoothie and began to drink it before continuing the service. She never washed her hands in between but continued to apply product to my face. I have to say that the experience was saved by the young woman who did my hair, but ultimately the entire appointment was overshadowed by the way it started with my makeup artist. After talking about this with a few other friends and colleagues, I finally decided to make this review. It's deterred me enough to consider not coming back in the future, and to warn others at least about the makeup application. I believe all business owners should be given opportunity to correct a negative experience, and I also believe it would be fair to at least be compensated for this experience in some way. Show more

Sorry you feel that way ,the service was not rushed you were actually asking me if you were finished yet. We proceeded to blow out your hair and asked if you liked the color and the reply was yes, that it was good , you then waited till after your 40 minute blow out was completed to say it was " too light “, at that point I had come over and asked if you wanted to reglaze and you replied no no, I like it I just have to get used to it I then said ok no problem call me if after a week you are not used to it. Strategically tried to rectify any “problem” , I am sorry but I do not think your review is warranted . Thank you. I also have photos that I look forward to posting .

Single process Balayage Blowout hair

I went into the salon with a picture of a blonde balayage that I thought would not be attainable. I had very grown out hair that was coppery/red/ and ...brown. Basically hair that had not been colored in over 3 years. Dana was so nice and transformed my hair to exactly what I wanted, and even better! Absolutely love my new look and hair.
