I changed my appointment weeks ago and she she waited until the day of 36 minutes before my appointment and tried to reschedule. I came all the way fr...om Kalamazoo. After I told her I was on the way already she tried to charge me more and say that the listing was for something else. I came up with the money she stopped replying. I drove to her shop and was there on time. She never showed up but instead sent one of her workers who doesn’t do dreadlocks to tell me she wasn’t coming. I drove a hour and she knew about my trip. I was referred to Julia and I also did research on her reviews and work. It looked amazing and I was excited to have her do my medium size knotless, m...id back and wash. As a working parent and spouse my time is valuable. My appointment was scheduled for 2pm. I received a text 11:43am that my appointment needed to be pushed back at 4pm. I made the adjustments needed for childcare and arrived at 4pm. My heart sank when I walked in and introduced myself to Julia and she was still working on a client. She was calling other braiders to no avail. I thought Julia was going to braid my hair based on the booksy website. It still wasn't clear if the issue was overbooking, a previous client arriving late, a no call no show braider, etc. She apologized but it still wasn't clear what the issue was. She eventually got in touch with a braider named Ari. She was able to come in 45 minutes. I decided to pivot on a less desirable style do to the amount of time that was loss. I respect every style/braider and I understand the importance of small businesses. All I needed was another text providing me with an update regarding my appointment. This would have allowed me to cancel my appointment prior to changing my child care, driving over 30 minutes, and being ultimately feeling disappointed and less than respected for my time. I'm confident that Julia is a wonderful braider. My overall experience could have been better if only the communication and transparency was afforded to me. Ari was very nice and provided a good service, the style was just not want I intended to receive. For new folks, great parking, great location (near a hair store), and very clean salon. Try them out I'm sure your experience will be great. Show more
