Went here for the first time and had a great experience!! Tony was amazing!
In response to Mr. Lawrence Simpson's review. Mr. Wilson and I have been friends for about 45 years, having grown up in the same neighborhood. Even a...s a teenager, he was always well-groomed, well-mannered, and exemplified great character. His high integrity and kindness have made a lasting impression on everyone around him, including me. It is rare to find someone with such consistent values over the years, and I truly cherish our friendship. Mr. Wilson has always been about his business. He is a true professional and a perfectionist in everything he does. Wilson's Nu Look Barbershop isn't his first venture; he previously owned a successful shop in Baltimore, Maryland, for nearly 30 years. You don't stay in business that long without a commitment to quality and integrity. Throughout the years, Mr. Wilson has surrounded himself with positive, mature individuals, creating a welcoming environment for everyone. What I admire most about him is his dedication to empowering others-he believes in reaching down to lift someone else up. Having been friends since our teenage years, I can attest to his character. He has never smoked a cigarette in his life and drinks only occasionally. Mr. Wilson would never allow anyone in his establishment to smoke marijuana. Mr. Lawrence Simpson, you've chosen the wrong barbershop and owner to target with your fabrications. Mr. Wilson's reputation is built on hard work, professionalism, and a commitment to his community. Mr. Wilson has hosted several speakers in his barbershop after hours and on weekends, focusing on important topics like men's health and wellness, first-time homeownership advice, and money management tips. As a military veteran myself, and currently a Fire Captain in one of the finest fire department in this country, I can say that watching Mr. Wilson has been a significant source of inspiration for my own career achievements. Mr. Simpson, I believe that Mr. Wilson would welcome the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with you. I've been getting my haircut by the owner Frank for over 20 years. I'm 37 now and the owner Frank and his team have been nothing but professional and ...courteous to all who come through the door. Doesn't matter your race your nationality your religion your occupation they will look out for you and will accommodate you to what you're looking for and what you need. Hands down the best barber shop I've ever been to even when I lived out of state, I'm just glad I'm back home so I can get a real haircut from a master barber 💈. Show more
I was the customer who was in Mr. Wilson's chair when Mr. Simpson entered and left Wilson's Nu Look Barber Shop. Sadly, he indicated that this was "n...ormal bad black business with bad customer service." It is extremely disappointing that he would mischaracterize this business in such a harsh manner and spread blatant lies. There was only one barber in the back eating and there was definitely no one smoking weed. The back area does not have a door to close it off and there is a large opening that allows you to see part of the room. Marijuana has a very distinct odor and all of us would have smelled it. Mr. Tony was the only barber in that area, so that was another inaccuracy/lie. Mr. Wilson was polite when you entered the shop and greeted you and stated that you didn't need an appointment and he did accept walk ins. I am going to assume that you were having a bad day, but you should reconsider posting in anger. I wonder if you characterize white owned establishments in the same way that you generalized about black owned businesses with bad customer service. If you were in a hurry or had a time constraint, it would have been appropriate to ask Mr. Wilson about how long he thought that it would be since he was almost finished cutting my hair when you left. In fact, he probably finished about 5 minutes later. Your post was written out of anger and meant to do harm, but it also reflects how you see "black businesses" and possibly how you see yourself. You came into the shop with negative expectations and hopefully you will take time to reflect on your post. You probably didn't notice how clean and nice the shop looks or even the greeting that you received. I have been a customer of Mr. Wilson for over 25 years and he has always provided excellent services and although I have only known Mr. Tony for a shorter period of time, he has always been courteous and professional. Maybe you should go to white owned establishments in the future since you think so poorly of people who look like you. Show more
